Maplewood of Marshall employs a team of highly qualified medical professionals, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Personal Service Assistants. Our on-site contracted Rehab, Dietary, and Maplewood Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. Jane Johnson, Community Manager
Jane Johnson is a Certified Assisted Living Director, and has been the Community Manager at Maplewood of Marshall since 2000. Jane's over 35 years of Registered Nursing has given her a plethora of experience to bring to this position. She has served in the senior care arena since 1990 as a passionate advocate promoting excellent quality of life and care for seniors. During her time at Maplewood of Marshall, Jane has built a strong staff shares her vision of the life within the building which has led to multiple Excellence in Community Service Awards. As a community member, Jane is also an advocate for health related services.
Barbara Czeiszperger-Osborn, Nurse Manager
Barbara has been the Nurse Manager at Maplewood of Marshall since 2000. Barb graduated from St. Clair County Community College in 1981. As a young girl, Barb spent time in Japan with her family and noted the respect and caring attitude shown to their elderly. It was at that time that Barb first felt her calling to the geriatric field. With over 30 years of nursing career, Barb has promoted the health and well being of the senior population. Since 2004, Barb has become increasingly active in the Relay for Life. She currently holds the position there of Purple Fairy providing support, encouragement and strength in the fight against cancer.
Karin Gallagher, Director of Marketing
Karin Gallagher grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan and received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Western Michigan University in 1992. During her course of study, her fields of interest were Psychology, Sociology, and Health Education. Karin has worked primarily with seniors since graduation. As a Licensed Social Worker, Karin has worked at Maplewood of Marshall as the Director of Marketing since 2000. The community of Marshall is greatly enhanced by Karin's participation in many local organizations and events. There is rarely any activity in Marshall that Karin hasn't promoted through her position at Maplewood. This involvement not only affords the community her enthusiasm but sets the stage for the guests to be a part of the community.
Shirley Cable, Activities Director / Dietary Manager
Shirley Cable brings lots of life and experience to these positions. Shirley started at Maplewood of Marshall in 2000 as a Personal Service Assistant, then she transitioned to Activities Coordinator, and then due to her wonderful cooking expertise she was given the opportunity to manage the Dietary Department. Shirley is very family-oriented and has taken Maplewood of Marshall on as her family. Whenever you're with Shirley you are sure to eat well and have your life enriched.
John Walbeck, Director of Maintenance
John Walbeck has been the Director of Maintenance since 2005. He came to the building to help Jane out for a few days and still remains. It is his desire to keep busy that keeps him coming back. He retired from Eatons after 33 years and just couldn't sit at home. The guests give him many things to do. If you were to ask John why he was still at Maplewood of Marshall he would say, "It keeps me busy and I like the people I work with."
